[Pending legal review]
This text is a working draft that a lawyer has not yet reviewed. A reviewed version will be published before launch.
Accessibility
Our commitment
We want anyone to be able to read the guides, check waiting times and take part in the community, including people who use a screen reader, only a keyboard, a small screen or a slow connection. Our goal is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
How we check
Every kind of page goes through an automated accessibility check (axe) in our tests before it's published. On top of that, the whole site works with a keyboard and always shows where the focus is; buttons and links are at least 44 pixels; no information is given by colour alone; every chart has a table with the same data ("View as table"); animations switch off when your device asks for reduced motion; and public pages can be read without JavaScript. This is our own assessment: we haven't commissioned an external audit yet.
Limits we know of
When you look for something that doesn't exist inside a section (for example, a guide or a consulate at a mistyped address), the "page not found" notice needs JavaScript to appear. The legal pages are still drafts awaiting review. If you find any other barrier, we want to know.
How to tell us about a barrier
Write to the contact address in the legal notice and tell us which page you were on, what you were trying to do, and which device or assistive technology you use. We'll reply, and while we fix it we'll get you the information another way.
Date of this statement
Prepared on 22 October 2026 from our own assessment. We'll review it whenever the site changes significantly, and at least once a year.
